Word of the Chair
Dear IPEC Europe members,
With this new issue of Excipients Insight I am delighted to share with you news on the regulatory environment and the latest activities of IPEC on behalf of our chair Frank Milek, who is currently travelling.
After months of work, the excipient certification project has reached a major milestone with two third-party audit companies agreeing to collaborate with EXCiPACT. This is the prerequisite for the pilot phase that will start soon. Look out for our press release in the coming days for additional details on this important development.
The programme of the annual Seminar 2013 has now been published and the platform for your registration will be provided in the next days on the IPEC Europe homepage. Please take the opportunity to register early as we can offer an excellent room rate at the famous Majestic Hotel for a limited time only.
In this edition you will also find brief updates from the different IPEC Europe committees and an interesting article on the IPEC Americas Coalition initiative for Rational Implementation of the USP Elemental Impurity Requirements. The template developed by this team might be helpful for the communication between excipient supplier and user.
News from a public hearing organised by EDQM on Silica monographs, and news from WHO, USP and the EU will complete the October issue of Excipients Insight.
Enjoy reading and kind regards,
Vice-chair of IPEC Europe
