Word of the Chair
Dear IPEC Europe members,
In this edition of Excipients Insight we are delighted to share details of this year's joint APV/IPEC Europe conference, which once again will provide valuable insights into recent developments in excipient regulation and technology.
We have refined the programme this year, running each of the three workshops twice to help delegates get the most out of the event. Registration has now opened and we encourage you to book your place early.
It has been just over a month since the EU guidelines on risk assessment came into force, and as a reminder you will find valuable information in our recent 'how-to' document to assist in compliance. Our sister association IPEC-Americas has published its own position paper on the topic, which remains high on the IPEC Europe agenda as we will be involved in a revision of the IPEC Federation position paper.
I am also pleased to report that three IPEC Federation representatives, including two from IPEC Europe, attended the recent EMA workshop on ICH Q3D. We will report highlights from that important event in the next edition of Excipients Insight.
Looking ahead, our association is also preparing for the annual bilateral meeting with EDQM, which will take place on 3 May in Strasbourg. Further details will be available in the next edition, along with a report from ExcipientFest Americas.
Finally, please note that in 2017 it will be no fewer than 25 years since the formation of IPEC Europe. We intend to mark this important milestone at our annual Excipients Forum next year, and recently issued a call for members wishing to join the events committee and help us prepare a memorable event. We look forward to updating you all on progress in the coming months.
Enjoy reading and kind regards
Chair of IPEC Europe
